I'm moving!

Hello to all!
I realize I have been pretty quiet on here the last several months. I guess there's several different reasons for that. Summer weather is finally here and that means I've been spending quite a bit of time outside and also going away on several different trips/vacations. I've also been making some decisions, and the biggest one recently is that I am planning to move to Ohio next week. I plan to work as a secretary at Ohio Wilderness Boy's Camp in Summerfield, OH which is a camp set up to help troubled boys. I have committed to serve there for one year. I am very excited about my newest adventure and would love to have your prayers as I move. You can read more about camp's mission here: http://ohioboyscamp.org/

Newest News!

First of all, I would like to introduce the newest member of our family.
Meet Rio.
He's still a puppy, but he's already growing so fast! We're having SO much fun with him
& it's so fun to watch him and our other dog, Tia, interact. They love to play together!

I've shown a few photos of some of my scrapbook pages here on my blog and you may have noticed these letters that I use for titles & headings ALL THE TIME.

These are dies from Spellbinders that I just LOVE! They are the perfect size for doing titles on scrapbook pages and they are so easy to use! It's perfect for using up small pieces of scrap paper because you can lay the dies exactly where you want them on the paper, even if it's a tiny piece. And of course, I got my dies from Farmhouse Memories.

Here is a spread I did last week. I've been wanting to do stitching on scrapbook pages and finally did it! I was pleased with how it turned out. It took a while, but it was so fun!! It reminded me of the sewing cards I used to do when I was a kid.

Have you ever done stitching on paper? Here is the template that I use. You simply pick which size you want and pierce in the holes (it may be hard to see the holes on this picture). Then you take embroidery thread and stitch! So easy.

And here's one last picture for you! This is a spread that I did yesterday (when the snow was falling) of my trip to Prince Edward Island this summer. Such happy sunny memories!

Hang in there! Spring is almost here!

Farmhouse

I wanted to let you all know that I will be spending a few days in Lancaster this week and working at the Farmhouse for Rachel! I would love to see some of you, so stop by! I'll be working on Thursday, Friday & Saturday this week.
(and just to clarify, I won't be working on Thursday evening; only during the day.)
Hopefully I'll get to see some of you!

My Craft Room Decor

I am so excited about this shelf that my Dad hung for me today!

I went up to the attic several days ago to look for something, and happened upon this shelf of mine that was stored up there. I had completely forgotten that I even had it. After letting my mind wander about what I could use the shelf for, I decided to hang it above my craft table, and it's PERFECT

The little basket on the top shelf I found just this morning at Dollar General for $1.
I'm keeping all my rolls of baker's twine in there.

When we moved into our house, there was a corner of the basement full of mismatched jars and glass bottles of all shapes & sizes left behind from the previous owners. I marched on down to that dark little corner of the basement and collected some of the cutest little jars that looked like they hadn't been touched in years. I soaked & scrubbed them and they now hold my buttons, brads, lace, twine, silk flowers, washi tape, etc.

I have a window in the center of my craft table, so the other side of the window looks like this.
This is more easy decor. The clipboards came from Walmart, and the pieces of art are printables that I found online.

And on a completely different subject,
this is what my winter evenings have been consisting of.

I hope you are all staying warm & cozy this winter!

A Peek Into My Scrapbook...

Good evening everyone!

I've been doing lots of scrap-booking in the past month! I'm working on my pictures from 2016. Let me give you a bit of a peek into my scrapbook...

My Mom and I both use the We R Memory Keepers post 12 x 12 albums
for our scrapbooks.

Just recently, I filled my album, and decided to try the
We R Memory Keepers ring albumTake a look...

What do you think about post vs ring?
I don't like the way the ring splits up spreads like you can see on the photos above, but I think they're easier to handle and I like how the pages lay more flat.
Also, what brand of albums do you like best?
Comment with your opinions!

My Mom and I have been busy working on her wedding photos! She had them in a slip-in album and wanted to have them in a scrapbook. We had so much fun doing that and we found this beautiful album at Michael's Arts & Crafts to put the pages in. It's perfect!

Just a peek into my life...
Last week I spent a few days in Florida! I enjoyed the sunshine immensely!
But as always, it's good to be home!

I hope each of you are having a good winter.
It's February now, so that means next month is spring. :)

Thanksgiving Week

Whew, the past week has been a bit of a whirlwind. Let me update you on what's new.

We got sheep!!! They are the cutest, furriest & tamest little critters.

We're working on taming Esme. She's still very people-shy. My family along with our church friends are doing a live nativity in our barn next month and Esme will (hopefully) play the role of a camel. :)

Last week, I spent most of the week out of town helping my cousin get things
ready for her wedding which was this past Saturday. The wedding was beautiful.

I was so grateful that our first snow waited to hit until after I was safely home on Saturday evening. The snow continued into Sunday and we stayed cozy inside by building a fire in the fireplace and sipping hot drinks.

When I got home from work today, I finished up these simple
Thanksgiving favors for my extended family's Christmas Dinner on Friday.

I'm a bit sad about not spending Thanksgiving weekend at home, but excited to see relatives! May all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving weekend! We are truly blessed and have SO very much to be grateful for and to thank God for.
Blessings, Janae
